The Team

We are currently seeking a Bridge Engineer for the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice. 

 

From managed toll lanes and long-range corridor plans to complex interchanges, major roadway, and segmental bridge designs, our teams provide the highest quality planning, environmental and engineering design solutions to our clients.  Each day, we partner with transportation agencies and local governments across the country to keep our communities moving and improving the overall quality of life.   By joining our team, you too can lead the evolution of transportation.

The Opportunity

As a Bridge Engineer you will be responsible for the structural aspects of highway and/or railroad bridge engineering projects.  Working on behalf of our clients, you will be part of a project team of engineers contributing to the overall project delivery.  You will develop and build upon working relationships with clients and other engineering consultants while actively participating on technical committees of at the local, state, and national level through relevant professional organizations.

 

Oversight includes organizing and monitoring labor budgets for assigned projects, mentoring junior staff as appropriate, circulating assigned bridge project status updates to supervisor and other team members.  You will bring skills that complement the need to consistently meet project deliverable dates and budgets for assigned projects as well as to provide Quality Control on all assigned project deliverables. Candidate must have the ability to develop/build upon working relationships with clients and other engineering consultants, and participation on technical committees of national professional organizations is preferred.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Master’s degree preferred (specializing in structural design)
  • 8+ years of FDOT bridge design experience
  • Professional Engineer license required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of MicroStation, Excel, MathCad, Structural Design Software (examples include STAAD, MDX, LPILE, CONSPAN, RCPier, RISA, Larsa)
  • Experience working with FDOT bridge design software
  • Experience with design of prestressed concrete bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures
  • Post-tensioned concrete design experience is a plus
  • Steel bridge design experience is a plus
  • Experience with FEM Analysis is a plus
  • Experience in design/build delivery method is a plus
