We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Aerospace and Defense Practice in Merritt Island, Florida.

We partner with NASA and commercial space launch providers to lead in the next era of space exploration. Having worked on nearly every type of aerospace structure since the 1960s, our professionals are experts in designing both manned and unmanned orbital and suborbital launch facilities, processing buildings, and ground support equipment. While we have a longstanding history in this field, it’s the future that excites us. Join us and help shape it!

The Opportunity

As an associate in RS&H’s Aerospace and Defense Practice, the qualified candidate will lead specialized design teams, working with Engineers, Architects and System Design Specialists for design of critical ground systems, mechanisms, infrastructure, and support equipment supporting vertical and horizontal launch vehicle related projects. Duties will include leadership roles in guiding systems integration; performing and overseeing engineering calculations, analyses, component and system designs; and providing multi-discipline quality engineering reviews for development of design documents (drawings and specifications) to be issued for construction.  An understanding of launch vehicle and space vehicle systems requirements and senior level experience with launch vehicle ground systems requirements and development is necessary. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to independently lead a project team and make presentations to clients.
