The Team

We are currently seeking an Environmental Specialist to join the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice. 


From managed toll lanes and long-range corridor plans to complex interchanges, major roadway, and segmental bridge designs, our teams provide the highest quality planning, environmental and engineering design solutions to our clients.  Each day, we partner with transportation agencies and local governments across the country to keep our communities moving and improving the overall quality of life.   By joining our team, you too can lead the evolution of transportation.


The Opportunity

The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for conducting environmental assessments required to meet the requirements of NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) and assisting with a variety of environmental tasks including permitting associated with transportation and infrastructure improvement projects. Field work will include wetland assessments, wildlife surveys, highway traffic noise data collection and other environmental evaluations. The successful candidate will also assist with preparing maps using GIS, Environmental Permit Applications, and NEPA documents such as Environmental Assessments, Natural Resource Evaluations, and Noise Study Reports.



  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental science or engineering curriculum from an accredited university
  • 3-8 years of work experience in the environmental, GIS, or engineering fields
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, MicroStation/AutoCAD, and GIS
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with NEPA and environmental permitting requirements for FDOT and other transportation projects preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate experience, in whole or part, preparing text, tables and figures for interpretive scientific reports preferred
  • Multi-disciplined experience in engineering and science preferred
  • Exposure to highway traffic noise monitoring, analysis, or modeling preferred
  • Willingness to travel preferred
