  • The Opportunity

    We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Transportation-Infrastructure Practice.


    We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Jacksonville, Florida office location. This position will be responsible for drainage design on transportation-related projects including hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, stormwater management facility design, and environmental permitting in accordance with FDOT, water management district and local municipality standards, criteria and accepted practices.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for task management duties including working with project managers, mentoring/leading junior staff, and coordinating with clients.


    • Bachelor's or Master's of Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
    • Certification as a Florida-registered professional registration (PE)
    • 4+ years' experience within the field of civil engineering specializing in drainage designs specific to stormwater improvements and/or heavy highway projects in Florida
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
    • Strong experience with FDOT plans production using Microstation
    • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using ICPR
    • Experience using Geopak Drainage and/or ASAD
    • In-depth understanding of the FDOT Drainage Manual, Drainage Design Guide, and FDOT Design Manual.
    • Significant expertise using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Relationships with FDOT, City of Jacksonville, or other local agencies
    • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Modeling
    • Experience with riverine modeling using HEC-RAS
    • Expereience with FHWA’s HY-8 software
    • Experience using ArcGIS for water resources projects
    • Experience with floodplain studies and FEMA submittals
    • Experience with design-build and/or other alternative delivery projects
