  • The Opportunity

    We are seeking a Project Engineer for our Transportation-Construction Management Practice.

     

    The Project Engineer/Construction Manager will help manage and administer roadway and bridge transportation construction projects as well as the internal workings of a satellite office.  Responsible for project management, contract administration, review and interpretation of plans, specification and other construction contract documents, monitor scope, schedule and budgets, prepare and process work orders; mentor, supervise and assign work to subordinate staff members while enforcing the practices, methods and procedures of a professional work environment.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program
    • Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia or the ability to obtain license within 6 months
    • Knowledge of road and bridge construction management
    • Knowledge of material testing procedures and testing equipment.
    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to manage construction inspection activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projects.
    • A minimum of 4 years’ experience with major road or bridge construction inspection
    • Valid Driver’s license

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
    • All VDOT Material Certifications
    • Va DEQ Erosion & Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Inspector certifications
    • ATSSA Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control
    • VDOT Guardrail Installer’s Training (GRIT)
    • OSHA 10 hour
    • Experience with VDOT contract specifications
