  • The Opportunity

    We are seeking a Bridge Designer / Technician for our Transportation - Infrastructure Practice.


    The Bridge Designer/Technician provides production and coordination of construction plans in support of engineering projects, primarily on bridge and transportation structures projects.



    • Perform routine and complex CAD assignments requiring application of standardized drawing techniques
    • Responsible for plan production and coordination with other team members
    • Develop exhibits, drawings, and details for design efforts related to structural projects
    • Calculate design data, prepare layouts, specifications, estimates, etc.
    • Coordinate assignments with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
    • Assist supervisor by instructing junior employees, answering questions and distributing, balancing and checking work


    • Associates degree or technical school certificate
    • Ten or more years of experience with at least five years of experience in structural detailing, layout, and quantity takeoff
    • Requires proficient knowledge of CAD, ability to comprehend construction documents, and technical structural knowledge
    • Knowledge of Microstation and/or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software required
    • Experience using InRoads and/or Civil 3D is a plus
    • Experience using ProjectWise is a plus
    • Experience with plan production for transportation structures is required
    • Familiarity with CDOT bridge design, drawing, and CAD standards is preferred
    • Excellent oral and written communication and documentation skills are essential
