  • The Opportunity

    We are currently seeking a Transportation Engineering Associate for the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice. 


    Successful candidates will assist with various design-related assignments, varied analysis and field duties on transportation projects primarily for state and local governments in Virginia and the southeast. Development of construction and right of way plans, cost estimates, bid documents, basic calculations, and quantity takeoffs will also be performed under the direction of licensed civil engineers. Candidates with skills and coursework in multiple disciplines of civil engineering are desired. Candidates will be required to perform certain duties in a field setting including active construction sites.


    • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution 
    • 2 - 4 years of civil engineering experience
    • Coursework/experience in transportation, geometric design of highways, traffic engineering, construction cost estimating, land development, construction management, hydraulics, hydrology, stormwater management, geotechnical and civil engineering materials
    • Experience using Microsoft Office software
    • EIT Certification 
    • Previous internship or previous employment experience related to the position

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Geopak, ArcGIS, HCS, SYNCHRO, Primavera software
    • Previous internship or previous employment experience related to the position

    Special Requirements:

    • A valid Virginia driver's license or the ability to obtain the license within one month of hire 
    • Some travel may be required to perform physical duties associated with field assignments
