    We are currently seeking a Digital Practice Building Specialist to join our Information Technology.

    The RS&H Digital Practice team within the Information Technology Group works with architects, engineers and planners across all RS&H business units to achieve the best use of technology during project delivery. The team is responsible for developing technology strategies and solutions that advance our firm’s creativity, efficiency, collaboration, quality, and profitability.

     

    The Digital Practice, Buildings Specialist will be part of a multi-department team assembled to assess, improve and expand our BIM capabilities. This individual will be a leader helping to establish this matrixed BIM management program. Initiatives will include assessment of our current capabilities and toolsets, and development of a BIM Capabilities Improvement Plan to guide our growth. Coordinating with the business unit BIM teams, the position will lead the execution of the Improvement Plan to include the definition and coordination of processes and standards; content management tools, techniques and content creation; BIM skills benchmarking; and a coordinated, continuous skills measurement and training program. This individual will guide our review and adoption of new BIM technologies and best practices that will result in more efficient, consistent, and higher quality BIM deliverables.  

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate a team of business unit BIM managers and drive the development of BIM standards, processes and workflows
    • Define processes and tools for BIM content library management, and business unit-specific content creation and approval
    • Work with our vendors, Learning & Development team and business units to develop and facilitate BIM training programs for both new hires and continuing education.
    • Work with business units to develop consistent and effective BIM project execution plans and quality control procedures.
    • Help business unit BIM managers budget required time and levels of development
    • Work with business unit BIM managers to support model coordination & clash detection workflows
    • Lead the strategy for collaboration and worksharing with external partners in BIM 360 or other tools
    • Perform ongoing research for new BIM solutions to stay current with technology
    • Maintain a strategic, on-going relationship with key BIM and related software vendors
    • Propose and manage pilot initiatives for new tools and processes
    • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated tier 2 technical support challenges
    • Coordinate with other IT staff on workstation, network and software deployment needs related to BIM production
    • Persuade BIM practitioners and senior leadership on the BIM vision
    • Liaise with visualization team to manage the spectrum of BIM visualization processes
    • Liaise with marketing team to manage BIM internal and external marketing materials and strategy

     

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor Degree 
    • 8+ years of experience working with BIM/Revit in the AEC industry
    • 3+ years of experience in a BIM leadership level role
    • Proficient use of BIM technology, including Revit, Revit Add-Ins
    • Familiarity with content management solutions and strategies
    • Experience with coordination software such as Navisworks
    • Experience in project delivery
    • Experience with both design and construction functions within BIM modeling
    • Analytical problem solver who can listen to all sides and make decisions
    • Ability to challenge status quo in a constructive and successful way and mentor staff
    • Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and apply new skills
    • Comfortable and adept presenting in-house and/or at industry conferences
    • The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with employees throughout the firm
