  • The Opportunity

    RS&H is currently seeking an Aviation Buildings Construction Administrator/Owner’s Representative to join our Aviation Practice. 

     

    Job locations: Palm Springs, CA or Los Angeles, CA

     

    As a Construction Adminstrator/Owner’s Representative, you will help our local governmental clients successfully construct buildings projects (terminals, parking structures, and similar vertical work) at airports.  You will actively monitor and facilitate Owner/Architect/General Contractor interaction to enable a successful project.  You will significantly interact with the General Contractor to confirm for the Owner that the General Contractor’s on-site construction activities follows plans, specifications, and other contract documents.  You will also interact with the General Contractor to confirm for the Owner that the job site operations are on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and will be enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable.

     

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Provide oversight on behalf of the Owner of the Architect/Engineer of Record’s Construction Administration activities, duties, and deliverables
    • Monitor the General Contractor activities related to the project so that the project is constructed pursuant to contract documents and according to schedule
    • Evaluate, monitor, and back-check the construction schedule. Notify the Owner of potential schedule slippage and take action/advise contractor on the Owner’s behalf
    • Provide claims mitigation monitoring. Apply foresight to discover unforeseen conflicts prior to General Contractor encounter and perform prompt analysis of validity of all potential claims
    • Negotiate on behalf of the Owner contract change orders including classifications as unforeseen conditions, owner-requested changes, omissions, or errors
    • Monitor, coordinate, and review for approval the General Contractor’s progress payment requests including review of certified payrolls for compliance with contract documents
    • Evaluate, monitor, and back-check the accomplishment by others of all Owner Required Testing
    • Attend all project meetings required for the benefit of the Owner including pre-construction, weekly construction, and design/construction discussions

     

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelors degree required
    • Minimum of 7+ years of related field construction experience or NICET Level III certification
