  • The Opportunity

    We are currently seeking a Senior Proposal Writer for our Transportation Construction Management practice. This position will be located in either Denver, CO or Dallas, TX.


    As a Senior Proposal Writer, you will help drive the sales of the practice by capturing new and existing clients through compelling storytelling in our statements of qualifications. Primarily, you will write, develop, and coordinate content for proposals and resumes, including technical descriptions of sample projects, proposed staff, project understandings, and approaches. Supporting this effort, you will also lead or participate in outlining and storyboarding meetings, to determine the direction for proposal content. Secondarily you will write, develop, and coordinate various types of marketing documentation, including brochures, fliers, advertising, articles, award submittals, and abstracts. Through concise interviews and close collaboration with project management staff, technical subject matter experts, and other corporate personnel you will develop, validate, and/or update information.


    In the role of Senior Proposal Writer, you will also incorporate win themes, differentiators, and hot buttons into the technical content. Additionally, you will review, analyze, and interpret technical requirements to gain a thorough understanding of the audience, situation, and the objectives of each solicitation, and when necessary, communicate that information to others. Bringing exceptional time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritizing multiple tasks to keep proposal delivery efforts on track are important to your success in this role. Adapting to changing priorities and direction in a fast-paced work environment are also important traits for candidates applying to this position.



    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Management, Marketing, English, Journalism, Communication, and/or relevant field
    • 5+ years of experience in technical writing and editing of proposals, including a winning track record of response to RFPs
    • 3+ year of experience in the Engineering or Construction (or related) industries
    • Thorough understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and delivery methods.   
    • Previous experience with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) or Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Proposals preferred
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products – primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Experience with Adobe In-Design, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or Deltek Vision a plus
    • Willingness and ability to travel
