  • The Opportunity

    We are currently seeking an Airport Structural Engineer to join our Aviation Practice in the Buildings Service group. 


    As a Structural Engineer in the Aviation Practice you will be responsible for the structural aspects of all types of commercial airport buildings including Airport Passenger Terminals, Aircraft Hangars, Parking Garages, and Air Traffic Control Towers.  This individual will be required to communicate and coordinate activities with other disciplines including architecture, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical.



    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred) from an ABET accredited university
    • 5-10 years' of experience in the structural engineering field
    • Professional Engineering (PE) registration required
    • Good working knowledge of Revit, Excel, MathCad, and variety of Structural Design Software
    • Experience with design of concrete, steel, and masonry
    • Skilled in the use of computers, structural design and analysis software
    • Some travel may be required (domestic and international)
    • Due to the nature of the client projects, US citizenship or permanent legal residency is required

    Technical Responsibilities:

    • Consistently applies and conforms to company and program operating procedures and technical requirements for projects and discipline deliverables
    • Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements
    • Prepares complete project documents, engineering analysis, and reports
    • Formulates and solves problems with timely, innovative solutions
    • Responsible for ensuring quality control reviews and quality deliverables
    • Performs field reviews, inspections, and observations of ongoing construction projects to provide the required professional design documentation for the contractor and owner

    Communication Skills:

    • Possesses highly effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills
    • Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, sub-consultants, and others to build positive, respected professional relationships
    • Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments representing the company and client in successfully completing project assignments
    • Expands skills at successfully addressing difficult or potentially controversial issues in a thoughtful and professional manner
    • Serves as a trusted company ambassador with the ability to become a trusted advisor to clients while operating in compliance with the company’s adopted “Statement of Business Ethic and Code of Conduct Policy”
