  • The Opportunity

    We are seeking Field Construction Inspector for our Transportation-Construction Management practice in the Charlotte, NC area.  

     

    This position will be responsible for observing, and recording technical work related to field representation, under the direct supervision of a higher-level engineering technician or engineer. Duties include field observation of earthwork, base course, concrete, and asphalt; oversight of material testing; recording of quantities, maintenance of daily reports, conducting pre-installation meetings and progress meetings on aviation projects. Travel will be required with possible temporary relocations.

     

    Associate will perform engineering tasks, such as selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications, and other related activities of defined scope requiring knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques commonly employed in the specific discipline areas of assignment.

     

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred
    • Minimum of 8+ years of related field construction inspection.
    • Ability to pass a specialized FAA background screening
    • Field certifications: Concrete, Asphalt, Earthwork, etc.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with FAA technical specifications, Advisory Circulars, and Orders.
    • Aviation/airfield field construction experience
    • Familiarity working in an active airfield operational environment
    • Experience with runway rehabilitation or new construction.
