The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a South Florida Bridge Area Discipline Leader to join our Transportation Practice in our Miami or Fort Lauderdale office!

 

 

RS&H has a national bridge design practice and is a leader in bridge design throughout the state of Florida, having completed a variety of high-profile bridge projects throughout the state.

We have an amazing team of talented structural engineers and are looking to add a senior leader for our team.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for the structural aspects of highway and/or railroad bridge engineering projects.  This position will be responsible for delivering current and future projects through construction, leading and supervising a team of bridge engineers, and for mentoring the team in structural design and career development. This position will also be responsible for leading technical pursuits and proposal writing.   

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree minimum and (Master’s degree with structural emphasis preferred) in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Must have a FL professional engineering (PE) registration with the ability to obtain comity in other jurisdictions as required
  • Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, miscellaneous structures, and construction engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive structural engineering design experience
  • Complex bridge design experience (FDOT Segmental experience preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of MicroStation, Excel, Mathcad, variety of Structural Design Software, (examples include STAAD, MDX, LPILE, CONSPAN, RISA, LARSA)
  • Experience with Finite Element Method/Analysis preferred
  • Experience working on traditional Design Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
  • Experience working as Owner’s Representative on projects
  • Experience working on FDOT projects
  • Experience managing and mentoring engineering staff
  • Experience with business development including client relationship management, proposal writing and presentations
