The Opportunity

 

We are currently seeking Bridge Scoping Inspector/Bridge Scoping Engineer for our Transportation-Construction Management Consulting Group in Michigan and the Pacific Northwest region.

 

The Bridge Scoping Inspector/Bridge Scoping Engineer has a can-do attitude and is a self-starter; responsible for helping with the firm's Construction Engineering Bridge Inspection Services.  You will help grow and develop staff and work closely with clients, engineers, and sub-consultants to ensure their needs are met.  You will also be involved in business planning, marketing, and fulfillment of the firm’s strategic vision for the construction services program.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of bridge scoping and/or inspection experience
  • Meets NBIS standards for Qualified Team Leader
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive experience with traffic control plans and MOT reviews as well as inspection of major traffic realignments on major highway systems with lane closure restrictions
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts
  • Willingness to travel State/Nation-wide
  • Experience with constructing submittal reviews, report development and cost analysis, schedule preparation, and general contract administration for federally funded state transportation projects

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program
  • 4 years of work experience with bridge scoping/inspection
  • Licensed Engineer-in-Training or completion of an accredited Civil Engineering Degree
  • Knowledge of road and bridge construction management
  • Has acted in the Assistant Project Engineer role for State DOT, on at least two projects
  • Auto Cad experience
  • Project Engineer experience
