The Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist for our Construction Management practice nation wide. 100% REMOTE.

 

 

Job Summary:

  • This position creates and/or analyzes schedules that reflect high quality, accuracy, and compliance with contract documents; typically supports projects of large size and/or high complexity. Analysis includes schedule monitoring, identification of drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • This position requires independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, and must be able to independently solve problems and make decisions. Supervision and guidance mainly concern overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Problems faced are difficult and often complex.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the analysis of prospective (forecasting) and retrospective (forensic) schedule reports. Identify and provide recommendations on process improvement opportunities for future projects.
  • Creates schedules that reflect high quality, accuracy, and compliance with contract documents.
  • Leads in-depth schedule monitoring activities, as well as the identification of schedule drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Incorporates change orders and/or claims to critical path method (CPM) with proper logic and relationships.
  • Prepares procedures and guidelines for scheduling management and control.
  • Coordinates with procurement team(s) to track and ensure material lead times are incorporated into the project plans.
  • Plays a key role in the development and implementation of innovative planning and scheduling techniques and methods.
  • Provides technical guidance and assigns tasks to junior and support staff for project duration. Provides quality assurance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Cost Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.

License/Certification:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Must possess extensive experience in heavy construction and advanced proficiency creating and/or reviewing complex schedules.
  • Requires extensive experience working with P6, Deltek Acumen Fuse, Microsoft Project, or comparable scheduling tools.
  • Proven experience leading and/or guiding the work of junior staff.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Must possess strong organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally required to sit and stoop.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job.
  • Subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
