RS&H is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Practice in our Denver, CO office!

Job Summary: This position is responsible for leading traffic engineering evaluations, studies, and designs of moderate size and complexity. This position will perform traffic operational and safety evaluations using sound engineering principles while working with a multidisciplinary team to identify appropriate and innovative transportation solutions. This position may be responsible for providing technical guidance to junior staff and managing a traffic engineering project team to ensure adherence to scope and schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within the field of traffic engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency with HCS, Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, and/or TransModeler.
• Must possess strong oral and written communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license.
• Extensive traffic design experience including intersection and signal design, pavement markings, signage, MOT, ITS, lighting, and signal timing
• Ability to evaluate traffic operations and safety issues and apply sound engineering principles and judgement towards developing appropriate improvement strategies
• CAD experience including Microstation and/or AutoCAD
• Familiarity with local, state, and national traffic engineering standards and practices
• Prior experience with CDOT and/or local Colorado agencies

Typical salary range for this position in Colorado is $85,000 to $120,000 and commensurate with experience relative to the position
