Job Summary: 

 

We design airports and aviation-related facilities throughout the US and abroad.  Aviation Architecture consistently represents a complex commingling of multiple building types/ functions (civic, cultural, commercial, hospitality, office, retail, workplace, interiors, etc.) often under one roof.

Will consider a senior level candidate with previous PM experience.  Additional area of focus will be to provide assistance and support across multiple projects and manages the team to ensure the project conforms to the client's requirements. This position must be capable of implementing the necessary management techniques required to fulfill this responsibility for the specific project

 

Essential Functions:

  • Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures, independently applying advanced architectural concepts and designs
  • Participates on major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features typically. May serve as the team expert
  • Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects
  • Meets with clients to determine objectives and requirements for structures. Prepares structure specifications, scaled drawings and proposals.
  • Owns finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction. May review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Reviews junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provides technical guidance to other professionals and technicians. May also lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects
  • Performs quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones. Performs field reviews, inspections, and observations of ongoing construction projects to ensure projects adhere to architectural plans
  • Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of state and local building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances
  • May supervise direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management
  • Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supports the needs and expectations of the client. This includes establishing project requirements, communicating requirements to the other members of the project team, and ensuring the team delivers a final product which meets those requirements.
  • Assists in the development of a detailed scope of work, budget, and schedule to communicate the project plan with the project team, ensuring everyone is clear on the objectives and shared goals
  • Directs the project team through all phases of the project to achieve the desired results within the established budget and schedule
  • Identifies need for contract amendments
  • Serves as liaison with the project team throughout the duration of the project. May serve as a point of contact for the client on small, low risk projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Architecture degree from an accredited university
  • 7+ years or more in design experience.  This experience includes working on parts of a major project or multiple moderate-sized projects and proven experience providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff and reviewing others' work for technical accuracy.
  • Registered Architect in good standing, NCARB certification is a plus or the ability to obtain architectural registration in multiple states is desired
  • Demonstrated collaboration with multi-discipline design teams
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Strong architectural design and construction document development capabilities
  • Demonstrated Revit BIM production capability and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management experience
  • LEED Accredited Professional
  • Visualization and graphics capabilities (Photoshop or others)
