The Opportunity

RS&H is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation Practice in our Baltimore area office!

 

 

As a Water Resources Engineer, you will be responsible for storm water management, drainage design, hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality modeling, and environmental permitting in accordance with MDOT, water management district and local municipality standards, criteria and accepted practices.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Maryland Professional Engineering (PE) registration or the ability to obtain their PE within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience with a variety of transportation and infrastructure related projects, with specific expertise in:
    • Hydraulics and hydrology analysis, design, and review
    • Storm drainage system design
    • Stormwater management
    • Erosion and sediment control design and compliance
    • NPDES Program
    • All local, state, and federal permitting requirements
    • Preparing Plan Review Division and Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) package submittals
    • Stormwater management facility inspection and retrofit design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bentley platforms (OpenRoads, Microstation, and Geopak), and H/H software (ICPR, HY-8, HEC-RAS, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority, local municipality, and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) policies and procedures
  • Experience with diverse projects using Design-Build and other Alternative Project Delivery methods
  • Understanding of 3D Design, including experience with Microstation OpenRoads Designer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to track individual project tasks and financial management of individual tasks and on-call contracts.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Business acumen and facilitation skills working with a broad set of clients, stakeholders and members of the public
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail along with overall quality control and schedule management; and
  • Strong teamwork, team management and project organization skills working on projects and with staff

Hiring Salary Range: ($91,770 - $146,855) — for this location only. The final agreed upon compensation is commensurate with experience relative to the position and/or primary work location.
