The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Office Technician for our Construction Management team in the Detroit, MI area.

 

The Office Technician independently documents construction progress for MDOT and Local Agency transportation projects. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining detailed project records in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate project records
  • Ensure the use of approved materials
  • Review Inspector Daily Reports
  • Review Certified Payrolls to verify contract compliance
  • Manage Contract Modifications
  • Generate Pay Estimates
  • Ensure proper administration of projects for timely project closeout

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of office technician or CEI Inspection experience on MDOT or Michigan Local Agency projects
  • MDOT Computerized Office Technician and FieldManager training
  • Experience with FieldManager, FieldBook, and ProjectWise
  • Knowledge of FHWA, and MDOT standards, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, or another relevant field
  • 5+ years of office technician experience on MDOT or Michigan Local Agency projects
  • MDOT Prevailing Wage training
  • Experience with Design-Build, P3, or other innovative delivery methods
