The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Aviation practice in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Denver, Los Angeles, St. Louis or remotely!

You will have an opportunity to advance your career and professional development as the Project Manager, Project Engineer, or engineering support on airport projects. You will have the opportunity to lead, develop and deliver projects of varying sizes and complexity, initiate, and maintain client contact and assist the team in winning the work.

 

Summary:

 

As a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a group of aviation design professionals to develop engineering solutions for airfield projects. As part of the team, you will lead the preparation of design drawings for airfield lighting systems, FAA navigational aid systems, and communication systems. You will coordinate and work closely with other engineers to develop specifications, reports, and cost estimates. You will have the opportunity to manage staff and project workloads, train and mentor junior electrical staff, as well as engage in business development activities, and prepare fees and qualifications.   

 

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program and 20 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Have experience with FAA coordination and navigational aids (NAVAIDS) design.
  • Be a registered PE.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance.
  • Have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (some travel may be required).
