The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Transportation Planner III to join our Transportation Planning practice in our Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX, and Houston, TX office!

 

The Transportation Planner will work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and must have excellent communication, data management, and documentation skills. The candidate will serve as a Project Manager, taking a leadership role in management, production, and quality assurance/quality control procedures. In addition to working with existing clients on the state, regional, and local levels, the candidate will support business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new clients to maintain a successful operation. The candidate will bring innovative solutions to our client's problems and lead the collection and analysis of data, and provide technical and management leadership for transportation planning projects of varying size and scope. The candidate will utilize ArcGIS Pro on a regular basis for basic to intermediate analysis and mapping.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university 
  • Master’s Degree Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university preferred
  • PE and/or AICP Certification preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 7 years of
    experience performing transportation planning/engineering activities
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and developing policies, codes, and ordinances on local, state, and federal level preferred, but not required
  • Experience identifying grant opportunities and dveloping grant applications preferred, but not required
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail along with overall
    quality control and management
  • Conscientious of project schedules and deadlines involving deliverables
    (including interim deadlines)
  • Ability to track individual project tasks and financial management of
    individual and overall project tasks
  • Business acumen and facilitation skills working with a broad set of clients, stakeholders and members of the public 
  • Strong teamwork and project organization skills working on projects and with staff
  • Willingness to participate in business development efforts
