The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a Regional Water Resources Discipline Leader to join our Infrastructure team in offices within our East Region! (Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and/or Florida).

We utilize the most current water resource management technology, including hydrologic, hydraulic, hydrodynamic, and water-quality computer modeling.  Our models play a crucial role in tackling future challenges and are vital steps for addressing future concerns and integrating plans and designs with existing surface water systems.  By applying these tools, we drive cost savings, improve system efficiency, and streamline the permitting process.

 

Job Summary:

The East Region Water Resource Discipline Leader oversees the Water Resources service group activities in Transportation and Aviation Markets within the East Region (Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and/or Florida), including resource management, staff development/retention, production, quality management, and marketing/business development.  The position reports to East Region Project Delivery Leader and collaborates with East Region Leader and several Area Leaders and Water Resources Area Discipline Leaders in the development and growth of the water resources services within the region.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership, oversight, and support for resource management of water resources associates, maintains production backlog projections, and forecasts targeted growth needs.
  • Supports water resources associate recruiting, onboarding, and technical development.
  • Serves as Project Manager and/or Water Resources Task Leader on major projects, performs independent quality control reviews, and ensures that quality management policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and technical resource for water resources services.
  • Supports business planning activities related to water resources services, supports the identification, creation, and maintenance of water resources opportunities, and actively leads marketing and business development initiatives related to water resources services.
  • Leads key internal business operational initiatives to support the growth and development of water resources services within the region in both the Aviation and Transportation market segments. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to apply for reciprocity in multiple states 
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience within the field of water resources/stormwater planning, analysis, drainage, and engineering design, 5 years of which are in a leadership position.  History should include understanding of the following software:
  • ArcGIS (extensions including 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, ArcHydro a plus)
  • SWMM (EPAXPXP, PC)
  • HEC Software (RAS, HMS, etc.)
  • ICPR
  • Water Quality models (e.g. SWMM, QUAL2K, WASP, etc.)
  • Experience serving as project manager and/or task lead for major water resources projects

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering or Master of Business Administration
  • Extensive experience with aviation and transportation projects, including knowledge of FAA design standards and Advisory Circulars
