The Opportunity

We are seeking a CEI Inspector for our Transportation-Construction management (T-CM) Practice in Dallas, TX areas.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe the Contractors work to determine the progress and quality of work on construction projects
  • Identify discrepancies, reports significant discrepancies to supervisor, and directs the Contractor to correct such observed discrepancies
  • Work independently, under general supervision, exercising advanced judgment in the application of standard methodologies and procedures for complex projects
  • Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations
  • Inspecting construction work and conducting field tests and is responsible for coordinating and managing lower level inspectors
  • Reads and interprets contract documents (plans and specifications) to determine if the contractor’s work is in substantial compliance with the contract documents. May make and/or check engineering computations
  • Maintains detailed accurate records of the Contractor’s daily operations and of significant events that affect work
  • Inspects construction work
  • Performs sampling and field testing of component materials and completed work in accordance with the Construction Contract documents

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • Prior experience in construction inspection, including exposure to bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or a Civil Engineering degree with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions
  • Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
  • Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • ACI concrete level I
  • Density testing
  • Asphalt Paving I
  • Water and sewer installation inspection
  • Basic computer knowledge
