The Opportunity

We are seeking a VP of Enterprise Applications and Architecture. This position could be remote or hybrid with the ability to work from one of our RS&H Offices.

 

Summary:

This position is responsible for leading Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EAA) functions within the IT organization. Including EAA strategy, digital transformation, governance, and performance management. Reporting directly to the CTO. The role provides leadership and direction to ensure that the EAA organization aligns with business objectives and delivers value across the enterprise.

 

This position focuses on establishing and implementing strategies that have short to mid-term (1-3 years) impact on business results. Responsibilities include managing technology related finance, workforce, as well as developing nascent Technology capabilities such, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, and strategic supplier management. The role also oversees the definition of technology policies, processes, and tools for developing and operating our environment.

 

Additionally, this position acts as an incubator for new capabilities and handles ad hoc tasks requiring special focus. The role leads multiple teams and primarily leads through leaders to achieve organizational and operational excellence.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Partners with IT leadership and the rest of the organization to provide technology vision and direction for enterprise applications and architecture, and drive our digital transformation.
  • Provides broad insight into technology domains and capabilities to support enterprise-wide business decisions, working closely with the business leadership team
  • Oversees the execution of high-impact, enterprise-wide strategic programs and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develops and manages strategic vendor and partnership relationships.
  • Oversee the implementation, operation, integration and support of enterprise business applications required to provide services to business units. Work with IT staff and application champions from each department to identify opportunities to improve software employment.
  • As a technology leader, this role will guide technical design decisions for enterprise software implementations that meet technical and business requirements. Ensure systems mesh with the enterprise environment and take advantage of enterprise resources.
  • Assess software systems, applications, and processes to facilitate a larger Information Technology (IT) strategy.
  • Drive initiatives to integrate enterprise applications and automate data flow between systems. Coordinate integration efforts of IT staff, vendor resources, and consultants when appropriate.
  • Work with business units and software vendors to drive user training on enterprise business systems.
  • Oversees the negotiation and management of enterprise software contracts for all resource teams.
  • Regularly reviews technology costs and cost structures for services and products to communicate financial implications to leadership. Directs the preparation, review, and consolidation of business plans and budgets for EAA team.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 15 years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience of team management and leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in business/industry (beyond IT), managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong preference for prior A/E/C Industry experience
  • Master's Degree
