The Opportunity

RS&H is currently seeking a Communications Specialist to join our team in the Moving I-4 Forward Program Office in Celebration, FL.

 

 

The Communications Specialist is an integral part of our Moving I-4 Forward Team.   In this position, you will support, assist, and offer guidance to the Strategic Communications Team in internal and external communications, public information, and community outreach.  

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Assist with internal and external communications regarding the Moving I-4 Forward Program including drafting press releases, newsletters, fact sheets, talking points, public service announcements, social media content, FAQs, and other public information materials.
  • Assist in the design of a variety of communication materials including project displays, flyers, brochures, newsletters, presentations, and maps.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of special events including public meetings, open houses, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and project tours.
  • Assist with communication reporting.
  • Coordinate with vendors and other partners to produce communication collateral.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, or related field and three years relevant experience within communication, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to and understand people in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Possess solid analytical, researching, and organizational capabilities.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and ability to manage a diverse workload with shifting priorities.
  • Be able to take initiative, follow through, and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of web design program (e.g., WordPress, MailChimp) and graphic design program (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese)
