This individual will be part of the Environmental Stewardship and Resiliency (ESR) Service Group providing environmental stewardship, sustainability and resilience planning, permitting, and consulting services to Aviation and other industry clients nationally. The ESR service group supports a variety of clients across the nation that operate airports, transportation corridors, Department of Defense Installations, local governments, and a variety of commercial facilities.

 

As a member of the ESR Service Group, this individual will help project managers and professionals develop, implement, and manage sustainability plans and programs to improve the performance of large building and infrastructure projects as well as ongoing operations.  This individual will support a broad range of sustainability and resilience projects to include, sustainability plans, greenhouse gas inventories, climate action plans, and long-term adaptation and resiliency planning. Sustainability support will involve collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and interpreting data, preparing figures and data tables, and developing concise and informative reports. Candidates should also be prepared to research and analyze sustainability trends, best practices, and regulations, and to clearly communicate recommendations and results verbally and in writing.

 

The entry level staff position will provide direct support for activities related to ESR and project delivery to the practice firm-wide. The ideal candidate will have an interest in providing a broad array of aviation and other industrysustainability, resilience and environmental planning services.

 

Broad sustainability knowledge and interests in greenhouse gas management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, fleet decarbonization, resource conservation, waste minimization, recycling, sustainable procurement and data management systems is desired.  Knowledge of climate science and projections and interest  in developing long-term climate adaptation and resiliency plans is beneficial. Other relevant interests/skills include managing air, water, stormwater, wetland and stream impacts, oil spill prevention and management, hazardous and non-hazardous materials management, and environmental site assessment.

 

Requirements:

  • Requires an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental sciences or engineering or related field
  • Interest or experience with third party certification programs (e.g., LEED, Green Globes, Envision).
  • Interest in energy management, energy audits, commissioning a plus.
  • federal laws and regulations a plus.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential for use in completing assignments
  • Ability to work in an independent but collaborative team environment and be highly responsive to client deadlines.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of airport and other industry environment and associated operations
  • Certification or certification-tracked by a professional society or a state regulatory board in the discipline of practice within 4 year is desired, if applicable. These certifications or registrations may include but are not limited to Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), Sustainability Excellence Professional (SEP), Certified Ecologist (CE), or registered Professional Engineer (PE – Civil/Environmental) or Professional Geologists (PG).

Typical salary range for this position in Colorado is $65,205 to $76,218 and commensurate with experience relative to the position.
