The Opportunity

Join our IT team as a Data Engineer III. While this role is fully remote, we’re especially interested in candidates located in Jacksonville or Tampa, FL.

 

The role requires deep technical expertise in data governance, engineering, and architecture, as well as a strong collaborative approach to solving complex data challenges. This role ensures that data systems are high-performing, secure, and aligned with business goals.

 

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing data orchestration processes, developing data models, and ensuring data quality, security, and integrity across various data sources. This role will leverage Microsoft Azure Fabric and other tools to build and manage data lakes and real-time data streaming solutions. This position also involves optimizing data storage and retrieval, ensuring efficient data processing, and implementing best practices for data governance and security. This position is responsible for developing and optimizing scalable data architectures and implementing data-driven analytics solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric. This includes creating data flows, mapping data transformations, and orchestrating data movement across various sources and destinations.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency. This involves working with APIs, databases, and other data storage solutions.
  • Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data. This includes setting up data profiling, cleansing, and transformation processes.
  • Design efficient data models for Power BI reports and ensure high-performance analytics.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance. This involves tuning queries, indexing, and leveraging caching mechanisms.
  • Work closely with Data Analysts, Security teams, and Enterprise Architects to ensure data solutions align with business requirements and security standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, configurations, and processes to ensure transparency and ease of maintenance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a data engineer or in a related field working with ETL/ELT, SQL, Python, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate Certification or other similar certification.
  • Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, or other cloud-based analytics platforms. Possess solid programming experience with SQL and Python, along with a proven track record in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize data workflows. Attention to detail, commitment to follow through, and ability to work independently following general direction and oversight from leadership. Also requires the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, set priorities, and manage multiple projects and assignments.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Must possess the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, demonstrate professional courage, and guide and influence others.
  • Must be US Person per client requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks such as Spark.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI.

  • Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.
