The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a Director of Business Processes to lead initiatives that drive continuous improvement across the organization, enhancing operational efficiency, service excellence, and sustainable growth. This role is not about cost-cutting but expanding beyond enabling digital transformation, cross-functional alignment, and continuous improvement.  This is a highly visible role, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, with the opportunity to shape how we work and deliver for clients.  Additionally, this position has the flexibility to be hybrid or fully remote.

At RS&H, our values guide how we lead, collaborate, and deliver for our clients. This role is more than process improvement; it’s about transforming the way we work in alignment with what we stand for. If this sounds like you, you may be the right fit:

  • Integrity: Do you want to shape processes that not only drive efficiency but also uphold the highest standards of quality, trust, and client care?
  • Accountability: Are you someone who thrives when given the responsibility to lead critical initiatives that directly impact business performance and client outcomes?
  • Curiosity: Do you get excited about asking tough questions, exploring new ideas, and using data and technology to reimagine the way work gets done?
  • Teamwork: Are you motivated by the opportunity to collaborate with leaders and teams across the company to build solutions that stick and create lasting impact?

The Director of Business Processes is responsible for leading initiatives that drive continuous improvement across the organization, increasing operational efficiency, service excellence, and sustainable growth. Leveraging process optimization methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and Business Process Reengineering (BPR), this role will oversee process enhancement, change management, and cross-functional collaboration within the firm.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of transforming business processes in professional services environments, improving internal capabilities and client outcomes.

This position works independently, applying advanced knowledge and the ability to evaluate and propose solutions to processes that standardize for scale, improve efficiency and enhance our ability to serve our clients. Problems faced are typically difficult and complex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Transformation
    • Define and govern the firm’s enterprise process architecture, aligned with strategic priorities and operational goals.
    • Use data analytics to identify process pain points and optimization opportunities through process mining and modeling tools.
    • Establish process ownership, maturity models, and performance benchmarks across functions.
    • Lead cross-functional workshops to map current-sate processes, identify inefficiencies, and prioritize improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
    • Apply technology and AI to automate repetitive tasks and boost efficiency.
  • Shape Strategic Initiatives
    • Partner with enterprise leadership to align process improvements with the firm’s strategic goals.
    • Develop a transformation roadmap that allows for continued growth at scale, focused on improving our employee-owners and client experiences.
  • Integrate and Simplify Systems
    • Ensure seamless connections between ERP and other enterprise systems to centralize data and streamline operations.
    • Build a unified view of business processes that improve collaboration and transparency.
  • Champion Change and Continuous Improvement
    • Serve as an internal change agent to align people, processes, and systems with the firm’s growth and operational efficiency goals.
    • Lead change management initiatives that drive adoption of new processes and systems.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.  Facilitate training and workshops that embed Lean, Agile, and process excellence across teams.
  • Collaborate Across the Business
    • Partner with leaders, project managers, clients, and vendors to understand challenges and co-create solutions.
    • Gather feedback and adapt processes to strengthen service delivery and business outcomes.
  • Manage Risk and Ensure Compliance
    • Oversee documentation and adherence to industry regulations, policies, and risk management protocols.
    • Safeguard business operations while enabling scalable growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business process improvement, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent; familiarity with Agile and BPR methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale process transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and process automation tools is a plus.
