The Opportunity

The Sales Enablement Leader leads the strategy, development, and execution of pursuit and proposal efforts across the enterprise. This role is responsible for driving win strategies, overseeing proposal and presentation development, and ensuring alignment with business development goals. The leader will manage pursuit operations, tools, training, and data systems to support scalable, high-impact sales efforts and position the organization for growth.

 

This role provides strategic direction to a multi-level team, guiding both direct reports and leaders. The Sales Enablement Leader promotes an accountable, engaging environment through clear communication, regular meetings, recognition, coaching, and performance management to support enterprise goals.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead pursuit strategy and execution, including positioning, capture planning, and win strategy development.
  • Oversee proposal development, including prequals, presentations, technical writing, and creative services.
  • Manage pursuit operations tools such as Joist and Open Assets, including data quality, SOPs, and opportunity tracking.
  • Support shortlist interviews and presentations through coaching, training, and strategic preparation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in pursuit processes, including post-pursuit scrapbooking and SOP refinement.
  • Collaborate with marketing and BD teams to develop brochures, leave-behinds, and premarketing materials.
  • Oversee resume and pre-certification updates and maintenance for pursuit readiness.
  • Lead training programs to build pursuit capabilities across the organization.
  • Partner with CRM teams to ensure integration of opportunity management and Go/No Go processes.
  • Conduct forensic research and market analysis to inform pursuit strategy and positioning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 12+ years in sales enablement, pursuit strategy, or proposal development, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of pursuit lifecycle and proposal development.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills for presentation and interview prep.
  • Experience with CRM systems and pursuit tools (e.g., Salesforce, Joist).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications.
  • Experience in professional services, AEC, or consulting industries.
  • Familiarity with creative services and technical writing workflows.
  • Certification in proposal management (e.g., APMP).
