We are currently seeking Project Assistant II to join our Federal Market Studio in Norfolk, VA.
This position provides project management assistance to support successful execution of projects, taking over administrative duties of the project. This position applies standard procedures and processes to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
Essential Functions:
- Provides routine project support.
- Assists with contract development and subconsultant invoice processing.
- Opens projects in Deltek and maintains project record keeping.
- Completes specifications editing.
- Drafts meeting notes and memorandums and proofreads project documents for submission.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and possess solid knowledge of administrative and project support duties.
- Must possess solid oral and written communications skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build relationships with others.

Responsibilities:
- Produce Architectural designs for a diverse list of projects and Clients
- Work effectively with local and national staff both in-person and virtually
- Assist with the development of the site and building designs
- Collaborate in creating concept designs
- Investigate, evaluate and recommend design solutions
- Work on multiple projects concurrently in various stages of design and construction.
- Prepare architectural construction drawings and specifications
- Coordinate scope content consistency across design drawing disciplines
- Review and process construction submittals and RFIs
- Maintain and record changes on project during construction administration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited university
- 0 to 3 years experience in an architectural design or related company
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD is a plus
- Knowledge of design modeling tools such as: SketchUp, Rhino, InDesign, or others
- Passionate about building design and construction
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally is a plus

We are currently seeking an BIM Associate to join our Federal Market in multiple office locations!
RS&H is looking for Building Information Modeling (BIM) production staff for our growing Federal Market clients. RS&H is fortunate to have a wealth of project opportunities through our multiple long-term consulting contracts for the military and NASA. Our projects range from small renovations for military clients to large buildings for federal clients and include both national and international projects in locations such as Japan, Europe and the Middle East. This position is intended to support our architecture and engineering design teams in all areas of BIM production. While federal and military experience is a plus, we are focused on your ability to perform in our collaborative team environment. This associate will function as a BIM production team member for RS&H's Federal Market within our Buildings Business Unit. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Implement new technologies enabling the Practice to maintain a competitive edge in our market
- BIM Production will require the management and development of modeling libraries as well as supporting the BIM training across the Practice
- This associate will collaborate on all projects requiring BIM, occasionally serving as the BIM Production leader for Buildings and Infrastructure design projects
- Provide interdisciplinary coordination for design and construction projects using collaboration and clash detection software
- Evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria as required by our client delivery standards
- Acquire general knowledge of design principles and practices of related fields and exhibits ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams
- Work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects
- Exhibit consistent professional performance in meeting scope, schedule, and budget commitments
Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- 5 years experience with 3+ years of in-depth CADD/Revit production experience at A/E buildings firm
- Experience in multi-discipline BIM content development
- Proficient in Autodesk programs (AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, Glue, etc.) and industry standards for the implementation of construction documentation
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments
- Ability to take on additional responsibilities as necessary
- Experience with GIS, Cobie, VR, Dynamo and programming a plus

This position is responsible for design for power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire alarm and other related facility systems for a wide variety of institutional, military and federal building & infrastructure projects. The position will work as part of a multi-discipline team responsible for meeting design budget and schedule requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
- 0-4 years of work experience in building Electrical systems design, previous internship experience is preferred.
- Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

This position performs basic interior design assignments requiring the application of standard design principles and concepts.
Essential Functions:
- Performs, under direct supervision, basic predesign, schematic design, and design development tasks, which may include assisting with programming, concept development, interior finish material selection, furniture, fixtures and equipment selection, and site surveys.
- Performs basic construction documentation tasks related to the interior design scope of projects of moderate size and complexity.
- Assists in research to support the development of proposed design solutions.
- Assists with client presentation preparation which includes formatting intended design using visual aids, renderings, and drawings utilizing advanced software and technology.
- Develops knowledge of state and local building codes, life safety codes, and other ordinances.
- Maintains resource materials and schedules meetings with manufactures' representatives.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a degree in interior design or architecture.
- Must possess basic knowledge of production software.
- Must possess solid oral and written communications skills.

This position competently performs all conventional aspects of design and development, including the planning and conducting of work requiring more advanced techniques. This position is responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client's needs
Essential Functions:
- Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures, independently applying advanced design concepts.
- Participates on major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features. Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project. Liaises with project managers, architects, and consultants. May serve as the team expert.
- Provides professional interior design consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
- Meets with clients to determine objectives and requirements for the design. Prepares interior finish material and furniture, fixture, and equipment specifications, scaled drawings and proposals.
- Owns finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction. May review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Reviews junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provides technical guidance to other professionals and technicians. May also lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects
- Performs quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones. Performs field observations of ongoing construction projects to ensure projects adhere to interior architectural plans.
- Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of state and local building codes, life safety codes, and other ordinances.
- May supervise direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a degree in interior design or architecture and applicable minimum experience as required by NCIDQ or the applicable jurisdiction.
- Requires a minimum of 7 years relevant experience. This experience includes working on parts of a major project or multiple moderate-sized projects and proven experience providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff and reviewing others' work for technical accuracy.
- NCIDQ certification and/or state registration as applicable.
- Proficient in production software and construction document production.
- Must possess strong oral and written communications skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders. Proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner
