We are currently seeking a Summer 2023 Transportation/Roadway Engineering Intern for the Infrastructure Business Unit in our Jacksonville, Florida headquarters.
The Transportation/Roadway Engineering Intern will collaborate with and be mentored by top Engineering associates on our team. The position will assist on both design and plan preparation for roadway design. This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Engineering Industry.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine calculations requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
- Prepare and revise plan documents details
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation
- Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
- Provide support to engineering and project management associates
Qualifications:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET - accredited university
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
- Strong work ethic aligning with the company’s mission and core values
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2.5 GPA or above
- Prior internship or related experience
- AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience
- Experience or exposure to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plans preparation and design standards
- Specific interest in Transportation/Roadway Design

We are currently seeking Construction Management Civil Engineering Inspection Interns/Trainees for our Transportation-Construction Management practice in Asheville, NC
As a Construction Management Civil Engineering Inspection Intern/Trainee, you will collaborate with and be mentored by top engineering associates on our team while gaining hands-on experience and a better understanding of Transportation Construction Management engineering. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and is enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Support inspection teams with field inspections
- Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation
- Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
- Prepare reports for site operations activities including materials used and completed work
- Provide support to engineering and project management associates
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Good driving record with valid driver’s license
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
- Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Management or other related specialization from an ABET accredited university
- Prior internship or related experience
