This opportunity is for an architect to lead our design teams on projects. RS&H is fortunate to have a wealth of project opportunities through our multiple long-term consulting contracts. Our projects range from planning to small renovations to large multi-building projects and include both national and international projects in locations such as Japan & Europe. This position is intended to be a career-building opportunity as the successful candidate will be asked to grow their architectural skills as a leader of a multi-discipline team. Essential Functions once hired as a Full Time Employee (FTE)
- Provides leadership and oversight to a team of professionals with a shared focus of ensuring client satisfaction and quality outcomes. Leads the development of a cutting edge design and production team by developing and retaining existing associates and recruiting new talent and capabilities to the firm. Fosters a diverse knowledge of appropriate discipline principles and techniques.
- Oversees and leads the delivery of multiple, high-profile design projects that are critical to expanding client relationships and growing our portfolio. Drives operational excellence, including profitability, operational efficiency, resource management, and quality deliverables. Provides subject matter expertise throughout the project.
- Creates an engaging and empowering work environment for team, including communicating clear expectations and providing effective performance feedback through regular meetings, recognition, rewards, coaching, and disciplinary action, when needed.
- Leads client relationship development activities while working closely with client managers and business development teams to drive top line sales growth.
- Leads and oversees business development activities for the discipline, including submitting qualifications, LOIs, and proposals, and conducting presentations for winning new work. - Consults with strategy leaders to develop and implement pursuit strategies and techniques to improve sales performance, particularly for strategic/large (LPPs) pursuits. Qualifications:
- Eligible/Approved for a DoD Skillbridge program
- Active Duty Service Member within 180 days of honorable separation
- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, interior design, or related field

- Professional registration/certification in discipline

The position will assist on a variety of conventional and design-build projects that combine innovative roadway design with a strong knowledge of technical standards to exceed client expectations and provide cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team to assist with the design of structural components for roadways, intersections, and interchanges. This includes bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and sign structures
- Prepare plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates
- Gather and provide data for the preparation of engineering reports and studies
- Perform and review design calculations
Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or other related specialization from an accredited ABET university
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as an intermediate level of technical writing and communication skills
- Basic CAD experience (AutoCAD, Microstation, etc)
- Strong work ethic aligning with the company’s mission and core values
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2.5 GPA or above
- Experience modeling in 3D utilizing Bentley OpenBridge
- Experience or coursework pertaining to the design of concrete or steel structures
